Take 1 Disk Drive Music (Apple II - Baudville)

01:42
This is my first disk drive music video captured in an emulator! This is a very big deal because Apple ][ emulators have only been able to handle disk images without copy protection, until now! I'm using the latest Virtual ][, which supports the new .WOZ disk format created by [email protected] (https://twitter.com/DiskBlitz) for Apple II emulators. The format captures disk images in full fidelity, allowing emulators to support original disk images with copy protection such as nibble checks, spiral tracks, etc. Take 1 was an animation software published by Baudville in 1984. The software uses synchronized track protection for track 0 and 1, which you can hear at 0:11. Details of the protection can be found on the 4AM website: https://archive.org/download/BlazingPaddles4amCrack/Blazing%20Paddles%20%284am%20crack%29.txt

Escape from Rungistan (http://www.mobygames.com/game/apple2/escape-from-rungistan) was a graphics adventure game published by Sirius software in 1982 for the Apple ][. The player woke up in a jail in Rungistan and must find a way to escape the country. The game incorporated several real-time elements that also appeared in a later Sirius adventure game called Critical Mass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXz9U_I8-is). For instance, if a snake is moving on screen, the player will die if he types in anything. Hope you enjoy the walkthrough! Gemstone Warrior game ending (Apple II - SSI)

04:41
Gemstone Warrior (http://www.mobygames.com/game/gemstone-warrior) was an action strategy game published by SSI in 1984 for the Apple ][. I consider it to be one of the best action games for Apple ][, as there was no other games quite like it at the time. The player needs to collect 5 pieces of a gemstone while fighting monsters along the way. Once all pieces are collected, the player can go back to the teleport to end the game and whether to stop the game or go to the next level. I'm showing you the first two levels in this video. The levels are: Warrior, Champion, Knight, Lord, King, Demigod, Peter L, Trouba G, Paradigm, Creators, treasure, and bonus. Creators is the final level, because last two levels were actually strings that happened to be placed directly after Creators and not actual levels. If the player continue the game after the "bonus" level, the game will crash, probably due to memory corruption. To get all 5 pieces of gemstone, enter $C1 $C2 $C3 $C4 $C5 starting at address $6827. Genetic Drift (Apple II - Broderbund)

04:18
Genetic Drift (http://schram.net/articles/games/) was an action game published by Broderbund in 1981 for the Apple ][. The player needs to keep shooting the aliens until they all become TV sets, upon which the player will advance to the next level. The game is somewhat difficult to play, using the Y, G, J, and space bar for directions and the ESC (!) key for shooting. PS: I actually had to modify the code to make it more playable on a modern day keyboard. :) Search for "8D 10 C0 C9 9B" and update the code as needed. Credits: Cover art - asimov.net

Situation: Critical Phase II longplay with cheats (Apple II - Prism software)

21:45
Situation: Critical was an action game published by Prism software in 1984. I consider it to be one of the best action games for the Apple ][. The game has three parts: In Phase I, the player controls a robot who needs to get on a fighter jet without being destroyed by enemies. Phase II is a side scrolling shooting game in which the player controls the jet to escape the enemy site. In Phase III, the game becomes a vertical shoot 'em up similar to Xevious. I never made much progress in Phase II when I played the game as a kid, so I use cheats to play through the game this time. The levels start repeating itself after Level 9 and I don't think the game has an ending. Hope you enjoy the longplay! PS: The # of hits is stored per digit at address 0x65-0x66. This is an interesting survival adventure game that provides accurate simulation of the environment (weather, sun, health, read condition, weight of the backpack, etc.). E.g. The Pawn walkthrough/longplay (Apple II - Magnetic Scrolls/Rainbird)

26:13
The Pawn (http://msmemorial.if-legends.org/games.htm/pawn.php) was a text adventure game created by Magnetic Scrolls and published by Rainbird in 1985 for the Apple ][. Since I have already done a longplay for an Infocom game, this time I decided to play a text adventure game from across the pond. Magnetic Scrolls built a great parser for this game, as demonstrated by the command "PLANT POT PLANT IN PLANT POT WITH TROWEL" used in this game. The Apple ][ version of The Pawn is "unique" because it was released as a text-only adventure, where as both C-64 version and Atari 8-bit version were shipped as graphic adventure games with beautiful images. Hope you enjoy the walkthrough! The long play is done by Smartadventurer, a program that I wrote to automate the playing for vintage Apple ][ games. 50K views! A message from Apple Adventures

01:36
I have never imagined getting 50K views on this channel. I think I got 10 views in my first month and it's your continuing support that keeps me going. Many of these games bring back fond memories of my youth. I remember playing on my Apple II in a hot summer afternoon while listening to Paul Young singing "Everytime you go away" on the radio. I hope these videos will bring back some of your great memories too. Thank you, Vincent

Randamn (http://gue.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/index.php?pub=1&item) was an action game published by Magnum software in 1983 for the Apple ][. The player needs to defeat randomly selected enemies in 7 worlds to become the Demi-god "Randamn". It took me a while to figure out the game because the character won't move unless you hold button #0. That said, I couldn't even completed the first world. Credits: Cover art - gue.cgwmuseum.org

Trinity walkthrough/longplay (Apple II - Infocom)

58:09
Trinity (http://www.mobygames.com/game/apple2/trinity) was a text adventure game published by Infocom in 1986 for the Apple ][. The player is walking in the Kensington Gardens in London on a calm, beautiful day when things go haywire very quickly. It was the 70th anniversary of the Trinity Test a few days ago, I thought it would be interesting to do a walkthrough on a game related to the experiment. The longplay turned out to be the longest video I have ever uploaded to my channel. Hope you enjoy it.
