Palyul Namdrolling Temple & Wat Thai Monastery in Bodh Gaya in Bihar, India Thai Monastery or Buddhist Temple at Bodh Gaya was built in 1956 by Thailand Monarch at request of Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to strengthen relations between the two countries. It is a unique and the only Thai Temple in India. This temple displays the elegance of Thai architecture. The Thai Temple is adorned with sloping and curved roof which is covered with golden tiles. The exterior is exquisite and is not to be missed. The temple stands facing the main road, next to the tourist bungalow. The temple houses a beautifully carved gigantic bronze statue of Lord Buddha. The atmosphere inside the sanctum is serene and silence falls on the ears upon entry into the monastery. Oslo is also served by the low-cost Torp airport. Oslo Airport is the main domestic hub and international airport for Norway, and is the second-busiest airport in the Nordic countries. A hub for Scandinavian Airlines, an operating base for Norwegian Air Shuttle, and a focus city for Widerøe, it connects to 28 domestic and about 115 international destinations. Almost 26 million passengers traveled through the airport in 2016, making it the nineteenth-busiest airport in Europe. The airport is located 19 nautical miles (35 km; 22 mi) northeast of Oslo, at Gardermoen in the municipality of Ullensaker, in Akershus county.[1] It has two parallel roughly north–south runways measuring 3,600 metres (11,811 ft) and 2,950 metres (9,678 ft) and 71 aircraft stands, of which 34 have jet bridges. The ground facilities are owned by Oslo Lufthavn AS, a subsidiary of the state-owned Avinor. Also at the premises is Gardermoen Air Station, operated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force. Mahabodhi Temple Complex || A tour of Bodh Gaya Bihar || Part 1

04:05
The Mahabodhi Temple Complex is one of the four holy sites related to the life of the Lord Buddha, and particularly to the attainment of Enlightenment. The first temple was built by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century B.C., and the present temple dates from the 5th or 6th centuries. It is one of the earliest Buddhist temples built entirely in brick, still standing in India, from the late Gupta period. Part 2: The Great Buddha Statue - https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&vide... Part 3: Payul Namdrolling Temple & Wat Thailand Monastery - https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&vide... Part 4: Magnificent monasteries in Bodh Gaya - https://youtu.be/dNEQpMNc5Lw The Mahabodhi Temple (literally: "Great Awakening Temple"), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient, but much rebuilt and restored, Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya, marking the location where the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. Bodh Gaya (in Gaya district) is about 96 km (60 mi) from Patna, Bihar state, India. The site contains a descendant of the Bodhi Tree under which Buddha gained enlightenment, and has been a major pilgrimage destination for Buddhists for well over two thousand years, and some elements probably date to the period of Asoka (died c.232 BCE). What is now visible on the ground essentially dates from the 7th century CE, or perhaps somewhat earlier, as well as several major restorations since the 19th century. But the structure now may well incorporate large parts of earlier work, possibly from the 2nd or 3rd century CE.
