Colombia: The BEST way to Travel
This is the BEST way to Travel Across Colombia...and also the cheapest :) Dangerous Colombia lived up to its reputation, but whilst witnessing some of the worst crimes so far, Colombia delivered the friendliest people and best adventures yet. In this episode we finally arrive at the Caribbean ocean, teach 200 kids how to slackline and take the Kombi to the furthest Northerly point in South America, a strictly 4x4 area....and there we host a bikini modelling shoot! DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind that these first episodes were made all on borrowed equipment, and we didn't even know how to make videos. We were learning on the road in South America - without internet and good ol' faithful YouTUBE to teach us. Needless to say our videos got a lot better once we bought a camera and computer and stared to learn how to edit. So if you watch the series from here you will not only see the early days of this incredible adventure but you will also be able to see our progress as we grow the channel and learn how to share the adventure. Driving through the Republic of Congo
After finally receiving my scooter in Franceville, Gabon I made the trip towards the Congo. But again, it wasn't without any lack of drama. I had two flat tires before I even made it to the border. I was planning on hitting the sand road of the Congo by about 8am, but with the flats, and the fact I was in the middle of nowhere, I didn't hit the sand until about 1030. The sand road in the Congo was absolutely grueling. There were so many times driving the road towards Oyo that I just about quit and set up at the side of the road to sleep for the night. Following the sand day I crashed at the house of a Lebanese expat for the night and pushed on to Brazzaville. Two days later, and I arrive at the outskirts of Brazzaville, Congo. But my visa expires today, so what will I do? Stay tuned. For travel articles and photography visit my blog http://www.brendansadventures.com and my travel magazine http://www.vagabundomagazine.com

Paris Travel Video | Paris France Travel Guide | Backpack Europe | Budget Travel Paris
Paris Travel Video - Travel in Paris, France in a full length travel video including the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Louvre, Seine River, Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, Paris Boat Ride / Tour, Paris Obelisk, Place de la Concorde, Paris Metro and other destinations, structures and landmarks. Highlights include St Chappelle Church with 13th-century stained glass, La Sainte-Chapelle that once contained Louis IX's relics of Christ, which included the Crown of Thorns, the Image of Edessa and some thirty other items. Climb the Arc de Triomphe and look down on the historic axis (Axe historique) -- a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroic French against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant patriotic messages. Video of the Eiffel Tower, a iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Video includes scenes of a Notre Dame Cathedral service with video of the Pieta sculpture by Michelangelo, Rose Window and famous Stained Glass. Notre Dame Cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture. Lunch on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a street in Paris, France. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops and clipped horse-chestnut trees, the Champs-Élysées is arguably one of the world's most famous streets, and is one of the most expensive strips of real estate in the world. Several French monuments are also on the street, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. The name is French for Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology. According to a much used description, the Champs-Élysées is la plus belle avenue du monde ("the most beautiful avenue in the world"). Visit Place de la Concorde, designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755 as a moat-skirted octagon between the Champs-Élysées to the west and the Tuileries Garden to the east. During the French Revolution the statue of Louis XV of France was torn down and the area renamed "Place de la Révolution". The new revolutionary government erected the guillotine in the square, and it was here that King Louis XVI was executed on 21 January 1793. Follow along to Luxembourg Park with Sailboats in the Fountain with Street Artists and Street Performers in Paris, France. Stroll on the Seine River, with 37 bridges within Paris and dozens more spanning the river outside the city. Examples in Paris include the Pont Louis-Philippe and Pont Neuf, the latter of which dates back to 1607. Outside the city, examples include the Pont de Normandie, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world, which links Le Havre to Honfleur. Travel Packing List - Do You Carry These Things?
See my full travel packing list and all details here: http://migrationology.com/2013/03/travel-packing-list/ After years of backpacking, I think I've found a travel packing list that I'm quite comfortable with. Now, this is my personal list, the things that I bring with me. I understand that you may have different needs, and travel somewhat differently than I, so I would encourage you to take this travel packing list and adapt it to your personal style. Though eating is my biggest passion in life, it goes together with my passion to travel. I love to travel, and ever since I was a child I grew up in a family that lived overseas. After graduating from University, I decided to travel the world on my own and experience as much as I could. When I first began solo backpacking I lugged around a pretty good size backpack - I think it was a 36 liter or something like that. I formerly carried about 6 sets of clothing, a few pairs of shoes, 5 books, all sorts of gadgets I never really needed or used, and a bunch of other unnecessary list of things. I also noticed that other backpackers had other humongous backpacks that they carried with them everywhere they went (and it looked painful). Too many clothes and too many toiletries, were a few of the things I noticed very commonly as I backpacked around Southeast Asia. But the more I traveled, the more I realized the benefits of being able to travel light - that is carrying only the necessary things and being mindful that nearly everything you could need is available at your destination. Not only is much more convenient and easier to get around, it also saves your back! For this travel packing list, it wouldn't really matter if I'm going on a trip for 1 week or 3 months, the list would be the same. So here is my travel packing list (following the video): 2 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of underwear, 1 pair of lightweight shorts, 1 cargo shorts, 2 extra t-shirts, towel, light fleece jacket (depending on where you're going of course), wind pants, flip flops, scarf (for warmth or sun), leatherman tool, sunglasses, lock, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, floss, sunscreen, toenail clippers, tylenol, 1 book, Bible, external hard drive, battery charges, small cell phone, universal adapter, laptop (I would only recommend if you need it), pens, notebook, wallet, credit cards, passport, passport photos, Canon DSLR camera, lens, Rode video mic, tripod. Also the clothes I'm wearing: 1 t-shirt, 1 pair of jeans, underwear, pair of shoes, socks Lowepro Passport Sling Camera Bag - I really love this camera bag! The North Face Big Shot Daypack - Great backpack, perfect size. Alternatively I use an Osprey Talon 44. Get all my travel packing list details here: Thank you for watching! Top 6 Places to Eat & Drink | Amsterdam Travel
Watch more How to Visit Amsterdam videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/512229-Top-6-Places-to-Eat-and-Drink-Amsterdam-Travel Planning a trip to Amsterdam? Learn about six great places to eat and drink in this travel video. Tips include where to get haute cuisine based on traditional Dutch food and where to find good beer. "You’ll probably do a lot of walking while you explore Amsterdam, so you’ll need to eat well. Fortunately, that won’t be difficult. Amsterdam loves its cafés. Have coffee at the famous Café Americain, located in the Eden Amsterdam American Hotel. It’s been around since 1902, and is worth visiting if only for the stunning Art Nouveau interior. Café Luxembourg hasn’t been around for quite as long, but its high quality has made it a favorite for decades. When you’re ready for a real meal, go to D’Vijff Vlieghen for New Dutch Cuisine, high cuisine based on traditional Dutch food. The restaurant is made up of adjoining 17th-century houses, with rooms invoking the atmosphere of the Golden Age. One of Amsterdam’s best restaurants for fine dining is the critically acclaimed La Rive. It’s known for innovative, elegant French-Mediterranean inspired dishes. Indonesian cuisine is a favorite in Amsterdam, and Sama Sebo is one of the city’s oldest and most beloved Indonesian restaurants. It’s very popular, so you’ll want to make reservations. If you're a beer lover, you'll be happy to know you can find fantastic beer in Amsterdam–visit Brouwerij 't IJ, or the IJ Brewery, for a taste of authentic beer, made right there. Located inside the former bathhouse next to the De Gooyer windmill, it’s full of local flavor. "

What Guatemala Travel is Really Like
In this video you can join us on the road less traveled as we show you what traveling in Guatemala is really like. As we continue our overland 'van life' project heading north in our Kombi van through the Americas. Travel: do you go it alone? - Rebecca McLaren and Bev Malzard
No doubt there's many a bookshelf in Queensland heaving with those chunky blue spined Lonely Planet travel books: South-East Asia on a shoestring, the epic Europe edition... carting around those weighty guide books has been a rite of passage for many Australians. But could destination guides be on the way out? With news today that Lonely Planet are cutting up to 80 jobs, the company have been quick to say they're not stopping the press on the hard copy versions, but it got us wondering about travel habits today, do you still take the guidebook along, or do you rely on different apps and websites or do you just wing it altogether? Things To Do In Charleston SC
Also posted on http://www.thecharlestonadventure.com This is a quick tour around Charleston South Carolina showing some of the things to do in Charleston that await visitors to this magnificent and historic city. Charleston South Carolina, A city of history, hospitality, and a heaping dose of good ole southern charm. Hi I'm Carl In this short video you'll see Charleston come alive and you'll understand why one magazine recently voted it the number one tourist destination in all of America. Something I've known for years. One of the best ways to learn about Charleston's past is to take a tour. And one of the fun ways to tour the city.... is in a horse drawn carriage. That's exactly what I did on a recent visit. As Kevin, supplied the.... uh horsepower, our knowledgable guide entertained and informed us with many interesting tidbits regarding Charleston's rich history, a city whose beginning dates back more than a hundred years before the founding of America. Add in the picture perfect weather we enjoyed, and you've got the recipe for an experience that's hard to beat. If exercise is more your style, one of the many walking tours may better suit your needs. Charleston's downtown business and residential districts are compact and perfect for a relaxed and entertaining walk as you appreciate the history and beauty all around you. At some point in your visit, you'll probably find yourself meandering through City Market, as will most of Charleston's 4 million annual visitors. This Charleston landmark has been around since the 1790's. Today from among the hundreds of local vendors, you can find just the right item to purchase and keep as a souvenir or to give as that special gift. The city of Charleston proper boasts 90 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with another 96 in the remaining parts of the county. As you witness the variety of these restored treasures, you'll appreciate why Charleston was considered the cultural center of the antebellum South. Since we're talking historical homes, make sure you stroll along East Battery street toward White Point Garden. You'll enjoy the beauty of the magnificent row of stately antebellum homes that line the street to your right as Charleston harbor splashes against the battery seawall on which you walk. Charleston's visitors also enjoy the city by water. There are numerous Harbor tours where one can get a better sense of Charleston's skyline, and with an evening cruise, enjoy a beautiful sunset as well. Another harbor treat is to view the Ravenel bridge up close and personal. This Charleston landmark doesn't have the history that attracts so many to the Holy City, having been completed less than a decade ago, but it makes up for its newcomer status by its sheer size, spanning two and a half miles in length, and rising to the majestic height of 575 feet. This 8 lane engineering marvel connects downtown Charleston to Mt Pleasant, and one day a year, 40 thousand runners use it for their own personal highway in what's known as the Cooper River Bridge Run. And who could visit Charleston and not take the boat to Fort Sumter, the scene of the first battle of the war between the States. After a 30 minute narrated cruise, you'll step foot on the very soil where America's most bloody war began. Once on site National Park Service Rangers will provide more details of this regrettable episode in our nation's history. Charleston is also known for its Plantations. You'd be hard pressed to fully understand what makes downtown Charleston what it is without visiting and learning more about the role played by these historic and massive plantations. And while we're out and about, this is the perfect time for me to tell you that there are no less than 5 beaches within 25 miles of Charleston. Whether your accommodations are on the beach, or you simply come to spend a peaceful sun drenched day, it's the perfect complement to your downtown Charleston adventure. Did I hear someone say shopping? Just so you know, King street was recently chosen as one of the 10 best shopping streets in the United States. Whether its antiques, art, or fashion, you'll find it all.. I say... shop on! All this activity will surely make you hungry enough to eat a horse...... oops..... sorry Kevin, my bad...... whether its fine dinning or various other award winning eateries, from barbecue to bistro, from cafe to cafeteria, from tavern to tearoom, and others too numerous to list, Charleston has it all. Then when daylight turns to darkness, you'll have to take a break from your non stop Charleston adventure. Charleston's travelers have access to some of the most elegant accommodations. Whether you're looking for historic charm, a private hideaway, or unparalleled luxury, your nights in Charleston will be as perfect as your days. Budget conscious families also have many alternatives from which to choose.

Basic shopping vocabulary in English
http://www.engvid.com/ Use English to shop and save money. When you finish this basic English vocabulary lesson, you will be able to shop with confidence and get what you want when you are in a store! Avoid getting ripped off. Make sure you get a warranty, and a receipt! http://www.engvid.com/basic-shopping-vocabulary/ TRANSCRIPT: [Singing] "Got to buy some dinner tonight." Hi. James from EngVid. So what are we doing? We're going to talk about shopping today. As you can see, I have to go shopping because our budget -- we usually have a big magazine, and I'm down to this poor little piece of paper. But my dinner is on, so why don't we go to the board. Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, something we have to do wherever you go. You do it in your own country. We do it here. What I'm going to teach you is the vocabulary for basic shopping. So there -- we have two other videos on engVid that talk about shopping and specific things. You can go and watch those as well. I recommend you do. But for now, just so you can go into a store anywhere that they speak English and get what you want, when you need it, the way you want it, we're going to do this lesson right now. So the first thing you want to do is -- well, you want to know if it's on sale. "Sale" means "cheaper price". So that's what we mean, "is it on sale?" The first thing you can ask, like, "Do you have anything on sale?" For instance: Club Savings. All these foods are on sale. Regular price 20, now 17. I'm saving money. So "sale" really means -- s-a for "save". You're saving money because you're going to pay less than the actual, original price. Which leads me to the next word: "price" and "cost". For some of you guys you're like, "We know these things." But it's actually using it properly or effectively. You can say, "How much does it cost?" which is different than "price". They're similar -- not same. "Cost" means "what do I have to give you". "Price" is what -- what the actual money is. So you can say, "How much does this cost me?" Maybe two hours. And I'm using it differently than price. So similar -- not same. So what is the "price"; what is the "cost". And they will tell you how much money you have to give them, okay? Cool. That comes with the word "pay". When you have a price or cost and you give them money, you must "pay". I work in an English school, and people have to "pay". That means, "Give the money." But you can give not just money, but different things in different forms. So one of the things we can do is, we can use our credit cards. Everybody -- not everyone. A lot of people have it if you're over 18 -- piece of plastic that you give, and they say, "This is worth this much money, and you can use your card to pay with it." Okay? Visa, American Express, MasterCard -- these are credit cards. Debit. In North America, we're in love with our debit cards. It's a card that you get from your bank that has direct access to your account. So not like a credit card where the bank is lending you some money or letting you take some money for now, and you pay it back. That's the "credit card". Debit is right in your account, so if you have $500, they literally -- oh, sorry, "literally" means "really", "in reality", or "actually" -- take the money out of your account. So you can use either debit or credit to pay. And my favourite, favourite of everyone's -- I don't have any: cash. Cash. Money. The old fashion way of doing things, right? Give them the money -- transaction done. "Transaction" is when you do business. You "transact" because one thing goes to another. You get product; they get money. It's a "transaction", okay? Taxes. Every country has them. In some countries, like England -- where they speak the Queen's English -- taxes are included. So if it says $15, it's $15. But folks, I live in Canada. And what you see is not what you get. $15 becomes $16.50. $100 becomes $115. $1,000 is -- $1,150. That's right. Our taxes are not included. So when you come to America or Canada, be careful because you might actually have to pay taxes. You see this, "Incl.": "taxes included". It will be taxes -- it's good. It means price -- what you pay. Most of the times, you won't see anything, and it means "add more money". "Taxes" are what the government gets -- okay. Understand this. It's what the government gets for you buying something because they want their money, too. Anyway.
