Here are some of our tips! Paris is filled with the most iconic landmarks on earth and luckily for the budget traveler, they can all be seen for free! Choosing a holiday apartment rental can help you save a lot of money. You get more space, and bang for your buck and deeper discounts when you stay for a longer amount of time. Having a kitchen in your apartment is a great way to save money on meals. We find that eating out is one of the most expensive parts of travel. so if you can cook yourself a nice romantic dinner in with a bottle of fine wine from the Carfourre, you're going to save a lot of money When in Paris, make sure to take advantage of free tours, they're all over the place and it's a great way to learn about the history of Paris. Many museums in Paris offer free days, once a month, like the Museé D'Orsay here. On the first Sunday of every month, you can get in for free. Be sure to check and see when museums have discounts on certain days of the week where you can get in for the last couple of hours for a fraction of the price. When you're in Paris be sure to take advantage of the free churches like Notre Dame. They're absolutely beautiful inside and they're free! I'm on the steps of Sacre Couer in Mont Martre, and it's the best view of Paris, save for the Eiffel Tower or Monteparnasse, but this view is free. Choosing the right disctrict to stay in can save you a lot of money. This studio in Montmartre starts at 49 Euro a night. So another great budget tip in Paris is head down to your local Fanprix or Carfourre, grab yourself some meats, cheeses and baguettes, and head somewhere to have yourself a great picnic. When you do decide to eat out in Paris, make sure to hit the Latin Quarter, you can get a 3 course meal for under €20. Here's a tip to help you save money, whenever you see the emblem of Paris on a museum, it means it's free. Here's a great site in Paris that you can see for free! Instead of taking taxis or tourist busses, take the metro instead. Paris has an extensive system and it stops at all the major sites. There is so much that you can do for free in Paris, be it walking through the cemeteries of Monteparnasse and Pere la Chaise to visit the famous residents, to taking advantage of watching the talented musicians and artists performing in the streets. You don't need to go inside to witness beautiful art in Paris. The city itself is a living work of art.

Colombia: The BEST way to Travel

15:08
This is the BEST way to Travel Across Colombia...and also the cheapest :) Dangerous Colombia lived up to its reputation, but whilst witnessing some of the worst crimes so far, Colombia delivered the friendliest people and best adventures yet. In this episode we finally arrive at the Caribbean ocean, teach 200 kids how to slackline and take the Kombi to the furthest Northerly point in South America, a strictly 4x4 area....and there we host a bikini modelling shoot! DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind that these first episodes were made all on borrowed equipment, and we didn't even know how to make videos. We were learning on the road in South America - without internet and good ol' faithful YouTUBE to teach us. Needless to say our videos got a lot better once we bought a camera and computer and stared to learn how to edit. So if you watch the series from here you will not only see the early days of this incredible adventure but you will also be able to see our progress as we grow the channel and learn how to share the adventure. World Cup 2014 Brazil Budget Travel Tips

03:56
Brought to you by: http://6ofthe7continents.blogspot.com Check out How To Go To World Cup Russia here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZNfU7hgP2Y www.6ofthe7continents.blogspot.com Budget travel tips to see the world without spending a forturne. A few quick updates for November 2013: The first random draw period is over. Next chance to buy tickets to games will be December 8th, 2013 in another lottery phase, following that will be another first come first served from February 26th to April 1st. Then finally a last phase April 15th all the way to the final. Remember sponsors don't use all their tickets so while everything may be sold out you never know if tickets will become available as it gets closer! Flight prices have been massively fluctuating cheaper sometimes but in no way cheap compared to going outside of the cup. At the time of writing this the cheapest flights from America are from Miami and Charleston. If you could drive to either airport, or book a trip within a trip (your flight to those cities separate from your world cup flight out of those cities) you could be saving a lot of money. Just make sure you have AMPLE lay over time, like a day! If you were thinking of using a backdoor and flying in from another country in South America, think again. This was my top secret plan, apparently everyone else thought of it. Pay extra and fly from home. Hostel prices are high, but thankfully affordable, if you have a large group www.vrbo.com is still the best bet. Day to day budget should be equal to Carnivale or New Years, but shopping at grocery stores if you have access to a kitchen in your hostel, hotel, or apartment would be a great money saver! Tickets if you have any may be mailed or picked up in Brazil for matches. The Visa fee for Brazil World Cup will be waived! And for me personally, 2 matches to Recife and one round trip ticket has been booked! I have a group of about 5, still looking for housing and not against linking up with some other people down there. I AM GOING TO BRAZIL WORLD CUP 2014, SEE YOU THERE!!!! -Joe www.6ofthe7continetns.blogspot.com

Paris Travel Video | Paris France Travel Guide | Backpack Europe | Budget Travel Paris

14:15
Paris Travel Video - Travel in Paris, France in a full length travel video including the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Louvre, Seine River, Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, Paris Boat Ride / Tour, Paris Obelisk, Place de la Concorde, Paris Metro and other destinations, structures and landmarks. Highlights include St Chappelle Church with 13th-century stained glass, La Sainte-Chapelle that once contained Louis IX's relics of Christ, which included the Crown of Thorns, the Image of Edessa and some thirty other items. Climb the Arc de Triomphe and look down on the historic axis (Axe historique) -- a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroic French against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant patriotic messages. Video of the Eiffel Tower, a iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Video includes scenes of a Notre Dame Cathedral service with video of the Pieta sculpture by Michelangelo, Rose Window and famous Stained Glass. Notre Dame Cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture. Lunch on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a street in Paris, France. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops and clipped horse-chestnut trees, the Champs-Élysées is arguably one of the world's most famous streets, and is one of the most expensive strips of real estate in the world. Several French monuments are also on the street, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. The name is French for Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology. According to a much used description, the Champs-Élysées is la plus belle avenue du monde ("the most beautiful avenue in the world"). Visit Place de la Concorde, designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755 as a moat-skirted octagon between the Champs-Élysées to the west and the Tuileries Garden to the east. During the French Revolution the statue of Louis XV of France was torn down and the area renamed "Place de la Révolution". The new revolutionary government erected the guillotine in the square, and it was here that King Louis XVI was executed on 21 January 1793. Follow along to Luxembourg Park with Sailboats in the Fountain with Street Artists and Street Performers in Paris, France. Stroll on the Seine River, with 37 bridges within Paris and dozens more spanning the river outside the city. Examples in Paris include the Pont Louis-Philippe and Pont Neuf, the latter of which dates back to 1607. Outside the city, examples include the Pont de Normandie, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world, which links Le Havre to Honfleur. Top 6 Places to Eat & Drink | Amsterdam Travel

01:52
Watch more How to Visit Amsterdam videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/512229-Top-6-Places-to-Eat-and-Drink-Amsterdam-Travel Planning a trip to Amsterdam? Learn about six great places to eat and drink in this travel video. Tips include where to get haute cuisine based on traditional Dutch food and where to find good beer. "You’ll probably do a lot of walking while you explore Amsterdam, so you’ll need to eat well. Fortunately, that won’t be difficult. Amsterdam loves its cafés. Have coffee at the famous Café Americain, located in the Eden Amsterdam American Hotel. It’s been around since 1902, and is worth visiting if only for the stunning Art Nouveau interior. Café Luxembourg hasn’t been around for quite as long, but its high quality has made it a favorite for decades. When you’re ready for a real meal, go to D’Vijff Vlieghen for New Dutch Cuisine, high cuisine based on traditional Dutch food. The restaurant is made up of adjoining 17th-century houses, with rooms invoking the atmosphere of the Golden Age. One of Amsterdam’s best restaurants for fine dining is the critically acclaimed La Rive. It’s known for innovative, elegant French-Mediterranean inspired dishes. Indonesian cuisine is a favorite in Amsterdam, and Sama Sebo is one of the city’s oldest and most beloved Indonesian restaurants. It’s very popular, so you’ll want to make reservations. If you're a beer lover, you'll be happy to know you can find fantastic beer in Amsterdam–visit Brouwerij 't IJ, or the IJ Brewery, for a taste of authentic beer, made right there. Located inside the former bathhouse next to the De Gooyer windmill, it’s full of local flavor. "

In this chapter of our central america adventure we enter Guatemala and introduce you to some pretty cool locals. For us it was fascinating to see Wilger's house and his simple lifestyle, the best way we could repay him was by inviting him to come and see what vanlife was like as we set off exploring the coast of Guatemala. We hope that you enjoy sharing another adventure with us....from on the journey gets pretty crazy, so be sure to subscribe so you can see what happens. Top 6 Places to Visit | Kuala Lumpur Travel

01:41
Watch more How to Visit Kuala Lumpur videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/514467-Top-6-Places-to-Visit-Kuala-Lumpur-Travel Planning a trip to Kuala Lumpur? Learn about the top six places to visit on a trip to Malaysia's capital in this travel video. Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant city with plenty to do and see. The Petronas Towers are the city’s most famous attraction. These skyscrapers were the tallest building in the world until 2004, but they’re still the tallest twin building. They’re best seen at night, when they’re lit up. And, if you head inside -- take the elevator up and you’ll get an amazing view of Kuala Lumpur. Back on the ground, Kuala Lumpur is best enjoyed by simply wandering and taking in the atmosphere. One of the coolest areas to wander is Chinatown. It’s also a great place to shop and eat. Kuala Lumpur’s diverse population means you’ll see a lot of variety in cultures. Visit the beautiful Thean Hou Temple to get a sense of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinese heritage. Or visit the Jamek Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the city. It’s a good example of Moorish architecture. The Islamic Arts Museum has an excellent collection of Islamic art and artifacts, from jewelry to armor. The museum is a great way to get an understanding of the Malaysian Islamic culture and its history. When you’re ready for a break from the bustling city, visit Lake Gardens. This is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most popular parks. You can explore a variety of flowers or just relax by the lake. It’s easy to see all of Kuala Lumpur’s major attractions, so you can take your time enjoying the city.

Visiting Rodeo Drive | L.A. Travel

01:33
Watch more How to Visit Los Angeles videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/513653-Visiting-Rodeo-Drive-LA-Travel Planning a trip to Los Angeles? Make sure to stroll down Rodeo Drive, even if its fancy boutiques are way beyond your budget. Just don't go on Sunday, when most of the shops are closed. Pick up other pointers about the world's most famous shopping address in this travel video. Shopping opportunities abound in Los Angeles but Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. From private boutiques to big name designer stores Rodeo Drive has everything you could want in high fashion and luxury, all contained in just a few blocks. Even if the stores on Rodeo Drive are out of your price range, it’s still likely to be the best window shopping you’ll ever do. Most shop owners won’t mind if you only want to look; they’re used to it. Rodeo Drive is also a fantastic place for people watching; keep your eyes peeled for celebrities and get a window into the lives of the rich and famous! If you do intend on making purchases, do your research first, as store hours vary and some boutiques won’t even let you in without an appointment. Visit Rodeo Drive’s official website for more information. As a general rule, you can skip Sundays, when most of the stores are closed, and visit on weekdays to avoid the worst crowds. If you happen to be in LA during the Christmas season, make sure to visit Rodeo Drive at night to see the lights and the decorated stores. Whether or not you can afford to buy anything -- Rodeo Drive is well worth the visit.

Travel: do you go it alone? - Rebecca McLaren and Bev Malzard

No doubt there's many a bookshelf in Queensland heaving with those chunky blue spined Lonely Planet travel books: South-East Asia on a shoestring, the epic Europe edition... carting around those weighty guide books has been a rite of passage for many Australians. But could destination guides be on the way out? With news today that Lonely Planet are cutting up to 80 jobs, the company have been quick to say they're not stopping the press on the hard copy versions, but it got us wondering about travel habits today, do you still take the guidebook along, or do you rely on different apps and websites or do you just wing it altogether?
