Things to Do in Venice on a Budget | Travel Nfx

05:14
Download Our App - https://goo.gl/SBkSm9 Plan Your Travel - https://bit.ly/2KMkpoD Book Flight Tickets - https://bit.ly/2ISlklv Book Your Hotel - https://bit.ly/2MImbYj . 8 Things to Do in Venice on a Budget | Travel Nfx From exploring the famous canals to hitting the beach; find out how to visit Venice and not spend a fortune. Venice, famous for its canals, gondaliers and gelato, is one of the world’s most romantic destinations. It's also pretty expensive... But you don’t have to pay a hefty price tag for the privilege of a Venetian visit. Here are some tips for enjoying Venice without abusing your bank balance. 1. Throw away the map Easily the best piece of advice for getting to know Venice is simply to get lost. With its unique network of streets and canals, Venice is best appreciated by wandering and simply seeing what you stumble upon. The further away you get from the tourist-ridden St Mark’s Square, the closer you get to the ‘real Venice’. The island is small enough that you don’t need to worry about getting truly lost - you’ll eventually find your way back to the Grand Canal, which you can follow until you find somewhere familiar. 2. Bridge of Sighs Walk round the Grand Canal side of the Doge’s Palace on St Mark’s Square and you’ll see one of Venice’s many famous landmarks: the Bridge of Sighs. The ‘sighs’ in the bridge’s name, far from being those of melancholy lovers, actually refers to those of condemned prisoners catching their last glimpse of the beauty of Venice on their way from the interrogation rooms in the Doge’s Palace to prison. You can’t walk across the bridge without visiting the Palace, but forget paying in to any of its attractions, it’s a sight best enjoyed from the outside. 3. Take a boat trip (but not a gondola) Many people go to Venice with romantic plans for a gondola ride on the canal, but unfortunately mass tourism has rather taken the shine off this experience and gondolas are incredibly over-priced. However, with the water such an integral part of this city, it would be a shame not to get out onto it at some point during your stay. Instead of paying exorbitant prices for a gondola, hop on a vaporetto - the (much cheaper) waterbus - for an experience of being on the canal without shelling out a load of cash. 4. The Rialto Bridge Another famous bridge - sometimes confused with the Bridge of Sighs - is the Ponte di Rialto. Built in 1591, today it is lined with tacky souvenir shops, but the views of the Grand Canal make it worth a potter across, whether you buy anything or not. 5. MuseodellaMusica This free music museum introduces you to the musical heritage of Venice, in particular its instrument makers. Part of the museum is devoted to the life and work of the prolific Baroque composer, Antonio Vivaldi, Venice’s most famous musician and composer of The Four Seasons. Rare old instruments, a Baroque soundtrack and the museum’s setting in San Maurizio Church all bring to life Venice’s musical past. 6. Hot chocolate at CioccogelateriaVenchi Despite what you may have heard about Venice flooding during winter, it's actually a great time of year to visit. It’s not quite so busy (except for the Carnival in February) and the eerie stillness of a cold misty morning makes the city seem even more surreal. Going during the colder months also gives you an excuse to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate at CioccogelateriaVenchi, a cavern of chocolatey treats that's been keeping tourists toasty with their signature drink since 1878. 7. Visit another island It’s easy to forget that Venice has several neighbouring islands, many of which are similar to the main island - but with far fewer tourists. Murano Island is a must if you’re interested in glassware, as it’s here that the celebrated Murano Glass is made; several of the glass factories offer free or very cheap glass-blowing demonstrations. For beach-based relaxation, the Lido is the place to go; it’s this resort island that gave its name to the ‘lidos’ or outdoor bathing areas you'll find back in the UK. 8. Visit a carnival costume shop Venice is famous for its Carnival, and everywhere you go - no matter what time of year - you’ll find shops selling iconic masquerade accessories in an array of designs and colours. One of the most intriguing mask designs is the sinister beaked mask of the plague doctor. This originates from the medieval belief that bad smells spread disease, so doctors wore long beaks stuffed with pleasant-smelling substances to protect themselves. Today there’s thankfully no such risk. Thanks For Watching Travel N F X #travel, #traveltips, #travelnfx, #tourism

Seychelles: 10 Tips to Plan Your Trip Better

02:42
AJAY JAIN Planning a trip to the Seychelles? Here are 10 tips that may come in handy: #1 Getting There Located in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles are served by their national carrier and only a few other airlines. It may take an extra hop or two, but you get there. #2 Visa on Arrival - and it’s FREE Finally a country has the sense to offer visa on arrival, and not charge any fee. I still can’t figure why countries charge high amounts for visas - the money saved is likely to be spent in the country anyway and would encourage more travellers. #3 Currency The local currency is the Seychelles Rupee, and pegged at about 13 Rupees to a US dollar. The exchange rate is more or less no matter where you change money. However, US Dollars and Euros widely accepted everywhere. #4 Getting Around Taxis can be a little expensive, but you can rent cars starting at about 40 Euros a day. You also have the options to rent motorcycles, bicycles, boats and even an ox cart. There are limited public buses on main islands like Mahe. #5 Accommodation There is an option for all budgets - especially those looking at mid to luxury segments. Pick up a self-catering apartment or villa starting at a hundred Euros usually. #6 Plan Activities There are a wide range of activities that you can book with local operators, even at the last minute. Prices are quite similar, and most offer a high quality of service. #7 Pack for Summers Temperatures range from 30-32 C (86-90 F) all year round, so pack accordingly. It can be quite humid - you may want to shower more than once a day. Do carry sun protection, hats, shades etc. at all times. #8 Buy local SIM for data and calls Pick one when you land to stay connected through your stay. #9 Don’t Worry About Safety Crime and thefts are almost unknown in Seychelles - you will rarely see any cops around. You will always feel safe there. #10 Enjoy the Food Seychelles are a delight for foodies - there is something for everyone. And usually with views of the seas and mountains while you eat.

Next up, things to do in Slovakia. If you want to know we really recommend to check out our travel vlogs on our journey in Slovakia. Last but not least, food. GUATEMALA TRAVEL GUIDE || What to see, do, and eat!

03:56
Here it is! I'm so thrilled to release this Guatemala Travel Guide, and share Albion Fit's top places (& secrets) to visit! This trip was not only an adventure, but so incredibly inspiring. To be there alongside the owners of Albion Fit (who are an absolute HOOT), and see where so much of their inspiration comes from was seriously so cool. I'm convinced that Guatemala is one of the worlds best kept secrets with it's endless beauty, and welcoming culture. We had the pleasure of meeting the talented Albion Fit team, who make the visions become a reality, and to be honest, it was one of my highlights of the trip! To see the process and hard work that goes into each swimsuit and piece of apparel we had been wearing, was mind blowing. Everything was cut and sewn with such precision and care. If you're in the mood for an inspiring entrepreneur story, you gotta listen to theirs -- you will be blown away! Other than that, my favorite places were the waterfall hot spring (Finea El Paraiso) because it was beautiful and had HOT WATER streaming down the falls! Like, is this real life!? AND the adventure hike we did at 4am to the Tikal Mayan Ruins. Can you believe the sound of those howler monkeys!? They sound like dinosaurs of some sort. It was seriously such a thrill, and so beautiful when the sun came up. No wonder they shot Star Wars there (By the way, have you seen the new one? Call me a geek, but I lovedddd it.). Another one of my highlights was being there with my sister and brother-in-law, they motivated me to get out and exercise and it was actually super fun. We were running through little groups of school kids and trying to not get hit by busses in Antigua! Ha! Working out is something I rarely do on vacation, and I'm making it a must from now on. Visit New York - Hotel Advice for New York City

08:06
Heading to New York & Not Sure What Your Hotel Accommodations Will Be Like? Well here we give you advice and tips on some of the typical hotels you will find in New York City. 1. They are expensive so plan accordingly. There are cheap tourist things to do in New York City, but the hotel is not one of them. 2. There are high taxes on hotel rooms which makes the rooms even more expensive. 3. The rooms are usually small, so you if you are a family make sure you let them know so you will have enough room. 4. WiFi is usually free, but breakfast is not. Many hotels do not offer breakfast, but there are a lot of options in NYC for breakfast so you will be fine. 5. You will always want to use the toilet before you leave the hotel as NYC public toilets are nasty. 6. You probably should tip the cleaning staff between $2 and $5 per day. We leave a little note for them as well. 7. There are high early check in fees, but most hotels will hold your luggage for free. filmed in New York City Copyright Mark Wolters 2016 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About New York City https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMyC_PUuEok 5 Tips for Enjoying New York City https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5TZkBIYMY0 Tipping in the USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoKL2T_48HU USA Today & 10Best's #1 Independent Travel Videographer 2014 FlipKey by TripAdvisor Top 10 Travel Bloggers 2014 Our Equipment Sony Alpha a6000 Digital Camera. Visit Florida - Tips for Visiting Florida

08:48
Heading to Florida to See Disney, The Beaches or Just for Some Relaxing Fun? Here we give you a bunch of very helpful hints, tips and advice for getting the MOST out of your Florida vacation. Tip #1. Weather Will Affect you - no matter when you come to Florida please know no matter what the forecast says, you will probably get rained on at least for a short burst. Hurricane season is June through November but it is the worst from late August through early October. Always keep applying your sunscreen as well as the sun is very strong in Florida. Tip #2. There is more to Florida than just Disney and South Beach. Both places are awesome but there is so much more to visit in Florida, like the Everglades or the history of St. Augustine, or heading out to Ybor in Tampa. Tip #3. Preplan and Prebook anything you can if it is during peak tourist season or it is a popular attraction. If you want to see a certain princess at Disney make sure you are making that lunch reservation two or three months in advance. Also, make sure you search online for deals on main attractions and hotels. Tip #4. Driving in Florida is stressful. They drive super fast in Florida, except for the tourists who aren't sure where they are going or some of the snowbirds. So be ready for super fast, crowded driving and be ready to stop on a dime. Tip #5. Use the cheap airlines to visit Florida. We all love getting our frequent flyer miles, but the cheap flights to Florida can outweigh the miles gained on flying a major carrier. Tip #6. Florida is not the Deep South. BUDGET TRAVEL TIPS: 5 Tips for Choosing a Destination When You're on a Budget (CC)

06:20
If you don't have unlimited travel funds, how you spend your travel dollars directly translates into how much time you can spend traveling. If you plan carefully, you can make the most out of any budget. Here are five ways you can choose a destination with your budget in mind: 1. If a place is on your bucket list, find a way to go there--you can make any destination work on a budget! 2. Go where the flights are cheapest. 3. Go where the in-country costs are lowest. 4. Travel during low season (even if your travel dates are fixed!). 5. Find the "budget option" in your target destination (e.g. if you want to travel in Europe, try Portugal). I took him around to some of the best Chinese street food in Chengdu, China, and we explored some local areas and had a great trip. Kevin is about to begin a trip traveling the world with no money alone (well, he's budgeted $20 per day, very cheap). First, we visited this local market near the outskirts of Chengdu, Sichuan, China, and found Chinese street food and the atmosphere to be mind blowing and exciting. It was truly an experience visiting this Chinese street market! So much food and Sichuan ingredients, so many flavours to try! We visited this morning market on a Friday morning in Chengdu at 9am with an empty stomach and not much money to blow with the goal of tasting some local dishes. Rather than trying hot pot in Chengdu or hot pot in Chongqing, you could try some way cooler food in Chengdu at local market or a noodle joint like this. This should be a top priority in my opinion! Please like: www.facebook.com/foodrangin The addresses of the locations in the video are: Themarket: 农贸市场 (Nóngmào shìchǎng) 青羊区苏坡中路5-10号 (qīngyáng qū sū pō zhōnglù 5-10 hào) The Noodles that made me want to move to Chengdu: Name: 纯阳馆鱼香排骨面 (chún yáng guǎn yú xiāng páigǔ miàn) Address: 青羊区吉祥街6号附6号 吉祥结店 (Qīngyáng qū jíxiáng jiē 6 hào fù 6 hào jíxiáng jié diàn) The cheap hole in the wall for dinner: Address: Guanghuacun street right near the small south gate of SWUFE At the end of the day, Kevin spent less than $20 dollars for his food, transportation, and accommodation in Chengdu, China! It was a total blast! Welcome to The Roman Guy How 2 Series. Today, we're going to show you to get the most out of your day trip to Florence. A lot of people refer to Florence as a city, but it has much more of a small village type feel. It's perfect for a day trip because it's centrally located between Milan, Venice, and Rome, and very easy to get to by fast train. It's an hour from Rome, two hours from Venice, and an hour and 40 minutes from Milan. Think of it this way, it's a three-hour car ride from Rome to Florence or a one-hour train ride. Our first stop is Accademia which is about 13 minutes by foot from the main train station. Be sure to RSVP tickets to Accademia to see Michelangelo's David. You can call ahead to get the lowest price or book online with one of our partners. I recommend getting inside by 9:30 AM. Be sure to give yourself at least 30 minutes between your reservation and your train arrival time. It's heavily debated on what Michelangelo's masterpiece is, but David is an amazing work of art with a great story. After David's completion, Michelangelo was asked why he worked so fast. His response was, "I saw an angel trapped in that marble and I carved him until I set him free." The central market of Florence is about a seven-minute walk from Accademia. In Italian, it's referred to as il Mercato Centrale. It's a great place to grab a coffee, some fruit or snacks to keep you going all day. After the central market, you should head to Brunelleschi's Cathedral, which is Florence's central focal point. You'll hear the massive cathedral being referred to as il Duomo. It's recognized for its captivating color scheme, bronze doors, and magnificent cupola, or dome. The cathedral took over a hundred years to build and was consecrated in 1436 during the height of the Florentine Renaissance. Right in Piazza del Duomo is a great artisanal gelato shop called Gelato Edoardo Bio. It's family-owned, organic, and has recipes that are over a hundred years old. The Basilica of Santa Croce, is not only a beautiful church but the final resting place of Michelangelo and Galileo. One of the best parts about Santa Croce is on the outside. This lively piazza is a people-watchers dream. There are plenty of outdoor restaurants in Florence but consider La Cantinetta Verrazzano. This is a local favorite and recommendation of one of our guides in Florence. From here, you should pass by one of Italy's most famous bridges, the Ponte Vecchio or old bridge, famous for its shops physically built into the bridge. Today, most of them sell gold, but they've been selling different artisanal goods here since it was constructed as far back as the 12th century. Now you're right around the corner from Piazza della Signoria. This square is connected to one of the world's most impressive collections of Renaissance art, the Uffizi Gallery. Piazza della Signoria is host to a beautiful array of outdoor statues, monuments, and fountains. The most notable building in this square is Palazzo Vecchio which is the Town Hall of Florence. By now, it should be getting late and you should consider going to All'Antico Vinaio for a Florentine sandwich. On the way to the train station, you should stop by La Fontana del Porcellino. It's a bronze statue of a boar and Florence's most famous piece of folklore. You put a coin in the boar's mouth and let it slide out. If it successfully falls the grate below, it ensures a safe return to Florence. This tradition was documented as early as 1766. From here, you're only 10 to 15 minutes from the main train station, but by a rule of thumb when in a foreign city, you should try to get there 20 minutes early.
