The way you presented the video it's so factual. Right down to the different changing of the music at the end. Keep it just like it is flight Channel, you do an excellent job.

pilot here: this was your wake up call https://youtu.be/GPm_1SNBm_8?t=330 the air was too unstable and turbulent to be flying. 2. 159 knots is crazy slow here https://youtu.be/GPm_1SNBm_8?t=399 3. https://youtu.be/GPm_1SNBm_8?t=416 another wake up call, you done stalled, you need to pick up speed or pitch nose down...https://youtu.be/GPm_1SNBm_8?t=432 yet another wake up call, angle too high or cant control it..that flight should have been delayed, simple as that, or at least abort and return to airport. But no, people put money and convenience first.

Time to make a video on the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft which is in question after two fatal crashes?
Tim Duggan (1 month ago)
I will stick my neck out as a retired airline pilot with about 20,000 hours? Too quick to judge Ethiopian 302 until the facts come in. It might not be related to the Lion Air accident. First? ATC radar lost the transponder at about 8,600 feet. That close to the airport, and "IF" the electrical system was operating normally? Well...as the airplane went down there should have been altitude info all the way to impact. The transponder only stops working if there is total electrical failure. I could explain in detail, but space here is limited. AND also?? THIS video (above) involved a B737-800....NOT a 'MAX' 8....the video abve was completely pilot error.

Sad that this video popped into my inbox as I was reading of the tragic loss of a Boeing 737-max today, just 6 minutes after take-off. My thoughts are with the families of all passengers and crew who perished. 2nd crash of 737-max in a matter of months. This is a new aircraft so Boeing must look into it's safety as a matter on urgency.

+Omt Son Well.....as a retired pilot in the USA? I would say simply, be selective. It is all about the training and the airline you select. Pertaining to this flight, Ethiopian 409? The First Officer (F/O, right seat, or "Co-Pilot") only had 600 hours. IN the USA, and other 1st World jurisdictions this is unacceptable...1,500 hours minimum, BARE minimum in the U.S. Not to sound dismissive, but standards vary. Will tell you a story: In 1993 I visited Egypt. A B767 JFK to Cairo. (EgyptAir). I also flew the B767- Since I was an active pilot, I went to meet the flight crew before takeoff. I felt confident. Few days later, we left Cairo for Abu Simbel on a B737-200. An airplane that I was familiar with, of course. A short flight...but I asked the Captain if I could sit on the Flight Deck on the jumpseat. He agreed. I felt better. The Captain was former Egyptian military, the F/O was a newbie. I saw that this Captain knew what he was doing. Still, I felt more comfortable being there...instead of in the back.
Tim Duggan (1 month ago)
+carlitos2012ace ALSO, to clarify: The Lion Air crash last fall (2018) was indeed a B737 MAX 8 and was determined to be an MCAS malfunction that the pilots had not been trained how to manage. MCAS involves the stabilizer trim and some computer software that controls it. It is actually not difficult to disconnect the automation, IF only they had been trained properly. Autopilot OFF, and then TWO switches on the center pedestal that remove power from the Stabilizer trim electric motors....AFTER that, Stab Trim can be handled manually. There are large wheels, either side of the center pedestal (near the pilots' thighs/knees) for manual stabilizer trim/movement. EVERY B737 pilot should know this, and been trained on it!
Tim Duggan (1 month ago)
+carlitos2012ace THIS crash was a B737-800....in 2010...BEFORE the B737 MAX ever flew. THIS tragedy was the result of very poor pilots mismanaging the airplane. I should know: I'm retired now, but I have about 3000 hours in the B737....ALL variants, except of course the "MAX" since it was introduced AFTER I retired. THESE pilots lost situational awareness, and lost control of a perfectly good airplane.

I always wonder what the passengers are experiencing. Once in Shenadoah Valley in Virginia I was on a mid size plane. it was amazing how much the wings flapped up and down. I think we were lucky. There were a few pilots in the back that agreed with me it was bizarre.

Another fantastic production thanks. You have to ask WTF, were the pilots doing? As presented it seems like pilot error, unless some mechanical fault could be discovered, it looks like they just got very confused and disorientated. Again thanks for your work, it is appreciated by so many subscribers.
Retro Man (2 months ago)
I think that describing the level of experience as being on the pilot's "back" is a poor choice of words. I noticed the same description in another video on this channel when describing a female pilot's flying experience. In that instance I think that it is a particularly poor way to describe her flying experience. In some quarters it communicates a connotation that should be obvious to anyone and should be avoided when referring to a female's work experience. With all due respect, there are more appropriate terms when informing viewers about the extent of a pilot's experience flying a particular aircraft and total flight hours.

99.99% of the world’s population could fly better after an hour of VFR in a Cessna 150 than these “pilots”
Hunter Hicks (2 months ago)
This is the worst piloting I’ve ever seen since the f/o on Air France off Brazil. It’s unbelievable to me pilots with this kind of experience can perform so badly. I’m just watching their attitude indicator the whole time, baffled. They get a stall alarm and ask “what’s that?” Are you kidding me? This is disgraceful piloting. No amount of fatigue can explain the basic errors these idiots made, over and over, compounding the situation. We need another level of pilot error, let’s call it pilot stupidity, bc these guys didn’t just make errors, they literally forgot how to fly.

If there wasn't an external cause had the captain smoked something he shouldn't? Someone with 10,000 hours experience shouldn't get the basics so wrong. And the autopilot was never engaged from the sound of it

It’s called idiot piloting. Technically, “spatial disorientation,” which is a fancy way of saying a pilot stops flying the plane by reading the instruments, and instead they start to trust what their own body is telling them the plane is doing vs what the instruments are telling them. In this scenario a pilot will then make opposite or bad inputs, trusting the sensations of movement they are feeling instead of the thousands of hours of training warning them of this possibility, and to always trust their instruments. If you look at the attitude indicator in the video, they clearly were in a panicked state and not reading their instruments. At all. Further evidence to their panic is the stall alarm and stick shaker, to which the captain asks, “what’s that?” This is an impossible question for a pilot. It would be like me asking you “what’s that” when you hold up your iPhone. For them to be baffled by a stall alarm, while banking severely and continuously for so long, indicates total brain fry. They panicked, and they froze. In that moment you might as well have had a golden retriever land that plane bc these idiots stayed frozen and “spatially disorientated” until they flew the plane right into the ground. They call it spatial disorientation to somewhat absolve the pilots of their idiocy, but in actually it’s just plain old horrible piloting. If you allow yourself as a flyer to become spatially disorientated in the first place, you’re poorly trained, or a terrible pilot to begin with. Spatial disorientation is not something that just happens to pilots beyond their control, it’s an affect that is the direct result of their own bad piloting and entirely their own fault. So when the video says, “something happens,” what is really happening is the pilots begin looking straight out their windscreen into a black, cloudy, featureless night and try to ascend rather than eyeing their instruments, particularly attitude and airspeed, during the ascent with zero visibility conditions. It’s the beginning moment of their idiotic piloting.

A pilot with this much flight hours and experience wouldn't have committed this mistake (at least simple maneuvers and instructions). The plane might have been hijacked or hit on air by world's super powers perhaps to kill one person on board.

Or... it really was pilot error.

Amazing videos i stumbled upon your channel and have watched about 20 so far very sad and unfortunate events. Anyway as a newbie to aviation cant autopilot help with alot of the pilot error or in this case do pilots manually fly the plane until they get to their cruising altitude?
