Why you keep complaining about pipi being expensive since you seem to be from some where like US or Australia? It's not as if massively expensive it's still peanuts compared with what you pay back home.

Dude, this is a budget travel show... read the title!

Just want to say Thais will never give you water from the tap. I lived in Thailand for 16 years. No one drinks tap water or ice from tap water . Some foreigners do get the runs just because it is different to what they are used to eating and maybe too spicy for them. The water and food is usually very safe. Thailand is a wonderful country. Enjoy!

@15:00 You contradict yourself. You won't tip the show because they used kids but you glady stopped to watch the whole show. @24:40 You're such a scumbag haggling for food. This is a no no. This same haggling is why they hire child labor. @28:10 Again Scumbag move by not paying the park entrance fee. Otherwise thanks for the video mate. Very helpful.

If you were vegetarian grown up in a Buddhist Temple why break your principles and eat low class local food like pork just to make videos on Youtube? Buddhist philosophy is Ahimha non-violence to all creatures so you set a very bad example for other who are sincere followers There is a good reason Pork is taboo in most Orthodox religions-its bad for your body and causes Bad Karma for your Spiritual health!
Charles Huang (5 months ago)
As a host of this show, I have to put my principle aside and introduce the local cultures and practices, including food without judgement. This show is not about me.

Lawrence Rosenbaum (8 months ago)
I’ve seen a few of your travel shows on youtube and I was both impressed and puzzled. At the beginning of your shows, you say you are traveling by yourself. You also mention having a lot of expensive video equipment and it looks like you travel with a lot of stuff (70 pounds of equipment plus your personal things). Are you really setting up all the video shots yourself? Do you really carry all this equipment on all the public buses, etc. you go on by yourself? While you ride a scooter, who is filming you and where is all your equipment? How do you keep all this expensive equipment safe as you travel and film? I am also amazed that you are able to find the locations and schedules of buses to various places? I am also amazed that you eat all that street food without getting terribly sick. What precautions do you take? (You did get food poisoning in Egypt and were sick for 2 days.) I have done quite a bit of traveling, but I normally take packaged tours because of all the difficulties of diy travel.
Lawrence Rosenbaum (8 months ago)
I'm still quite impressed. The key to DIY travel is traveling very light. But still it is quite an effort in the "third world" even without heavy and expensive camera gear. You seem quite relaxed. Packaged tours also have advantages -- very easy, see a lot in a short time -- but they are not available in many places, and inexpensive ones are hard to find. So I'll do some of my travel on youtube -- the easiest and least expensive of all.
Charles Huang (8 months ago)
I filmed everything myself but occasionally ask someone to hold the camera. I don’t carry all the 70 lb of equipment with me all the time. Packaged tour doesn’t give you all the freedom and very little money goes back to the local economy.

Awesome informative video! New subscriber here! Going to Thailand for the first time next month, into Phuket and basically going to backpack it around Southern Thailand for a week. We're most interested in snorkeling, exploring/hiking, animals etc. Outdoor adventure type things. Not into the partying. What was your favorite beach or island, least crowded, recommendation for tours or island hopping, did you stay overnight on islands or just day trip around, etc? Hope you see this and can provide some good tips. Thanks in advance.

Very information video thanks! I’m going to Thailand for my honeymoon. Quick question did you book your flights ahead of time. Not getting into Thailand. But going from place to place. Example Phuket to Chang mai and Chang mai to Bangkok. We of course have our flights there and flight back home already. But wondering about the cheap flights within Thailand. How much are the flights if you book a week or even day before? I️ know they can be $26 US if booked a month ahead of time.....anyone have any info to give me?
Charles Huang (11 months ago)
I don't book flight ahead of time, because our filming schedule always changes and secondly because we fly free on all partners airlines, there is no need to. We always get priority on business class and guaranteed economy class, therefore there is no need. However, I can tell you it is cheaper if you book in advance. Beware of Air Asia boogus fees...

Great video only thing I didn’t like is that you wouldn’t help pay baht to children because of child exploitation. The child is not aware of this and is still trying to earn money for him and family.

You are welcome! I am not sure whether there is a shuttle to connect between airports, but there is frequent buses between Krabi and Phuket.
