Hi Everyone, I'm new to Service Now is there a way to schedule exporting data from it? Thanks!
Darius Koohmarey (1 year ago)
Hi Lloyd, in the full version of ServiceNow, check out export sets: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/helsinki-servicenow-platform/page/administer/export-sets/concept/c_ScheduledExportSets.html In addition, you can schedule reports as well.

Great video. Very helpful. I'm left wondering how the contents of this video relates to the Guided Setup feature in terms of the required actions and steps taken.
Darius Koohmarey (1 year ago)
Guided setup will not change any of the steps shown in this video; rather, it tells you when in the process to do the data import. Keep in mind that this video is how to import on the Express version; the Enterprise version offers additional import options.

Note for CMDB imports: When importing data, you may need to first import into a specific CI class (such as the computer table), and after that do an update on the parent class (CI) table to properly import in all data.

If you are having data truncated at 40 characters, here is a tip: https://express.servicenow.com/support/forums/topic/imported-data-truncating-at-40-characters/ In addition, please note that the user generating the import template must have write access to a field in order to import into it. Fields marked as 'read only' will not be added to import templates.
