What was the temperature for the mug press, and how long was it pressed for?
Lori Charette (4 days ago)
So you did both Vinyl & HTV - but you didn't mention which you recommend and/or the benefits of one application over the other ??
Angelt1192 Torres (24 days ago)
Wichone its more resistible?
Keia Williams (25 days ago)
Let me start by saying you are my favorite to learn from! I love your set up and all of your products you use! But I have a few questions if you don't mind answering. I just received a mug press for Christmas, I've been failing miserably with getting the HTV to not peel after it is on the mug. For solid, holographic and glitter vinyl, what temperatures do I use and for how long? Also, can you use 2 colors and or layer HTV on mugs? If yes, how does that process work? How long for the first color? Do I let it cool before i add my 2nd color? Lastly, how long mustg I wait to wash the mug? Is it dishwasher safe? I thank you very much for your time in answering my questions. Keep up the great work, again, I just love learning from you! I've only started doing this in August 2018 and I've learned so much!

Does applying heat to the tumbler affect the vacuum seal or the ability to keep drinks cold?
Thordur Sigfridsson (2 months ago)
Maybe you already have thought of this but because of the length of the water bottle then maybe you could use the hat press to put the vinyl on, that way you could have more control of pressure and heat.... just a idea :)

...Also I seen you adding the vinyl to the thermos. I am planning to make a few of these soon. Does it hold up in the dishwasher and hand washing over time? I plan to use mostly 651, I think.

How can I heat press a cup on if I don’t have a heat press? Will an iron wrk?
Christa Busse (1 month ago)
+Loretta Mckane I bought mine on Amazon when it was on a daily deal. It's a Ranger Heat It Craft Gun. They have a huge range of them on there. I think the difference has to do with the amount of air flow, so if you want to use it for embossing powder it doesn't blow it all over the place.
Loretta Mckane (1 month ago)
+Christa Busse im wanting to do this as well. where did you get a your heat gun?
Christa Busse (1 month ago)
+Megan Elizabeth I also use the heat gun for easy removing of vinyl decals, for example from old toys where the decals are torn etc..heat them up for a few seconds and they peel right off. Has many uses and works great on HTV on wood as well..just do it a few seconds at a time until the protector sheet starts to curl. Love my $12 heat gun! Lol
Megan Elizabeth (1 month ago)
+Christa Busse genius! Thank you, I would never have thought of that ☺
Christa Busse (1 month ago)
+Megan Elizabeth I use my heat gun to adhere it, works great, just have to be careful because the metal does get very hot. Once its sticking I just leave the tumbler free standing to finish heating the htv on.
Kathy Kirk (10 months ago)

cut slits on the htv so it makes it easier to go around i know this as i do tattoos and my stencils have to be on arms legs etc so we cut small slits on the stencil. hope this helps
tara naylor (1 year ago)
I used my heat press to apply HTV to a stainless steel yeti cup and it seemed to have made the adhesive bleed or squish out from underneath. The actually decal did not shrink or move there is just a cloudy outline around the decal and inside the letters... do you have any idea what I did wrong? Pressed for 30 seconds at 375f
teri doty (3 months ago)
Out of curiosity - which heat press are you using? There seem to be a dizzying array of styles and brands available
teri doty (3 months ago)
If you were using Siser products, I just watched a video on their YouTube channel that says the heat range of their products is 305 - 320 degrees - might check out their channel, it was super informative (noob to all things vinyl here, but loving my cricut and all the possibles)

Harold Eggar I've notice my adhesive vinyl doesn't last as long... HTV does... Just fyi

This video was very good, I was going to give it a thumbs up, but I watched this in December and in spite of the fact that she asked for questions to be posted in the comment section, she really hasn't answered any of them. She commented briefly on one, but really didn't answer the question. So, no thumbs up.

Have you ever wrapped a whole yeti in vinyl? And how? I've seen the finished product of one but can't figure out how with the curves or where to find out how. Thanks so much for your video's! I've learned so much from you!
auntie lisa (1 year ago)
hi try the vinyl like used in wrapping cars. Amazon search Vvivid (3v's) vinyl! Plenty other brands but this search is good start. I got a great blue 3d carbon fiber & cut with machine to do a football dad mug. Also completely wrapped yeti with camo wrap no cutter needed just knife, hair dryer & old cc to smooth. Giant rolls are like $10 bucks so pick a color/pattern you can use for future products. .

I am wanting to purchase the t-shirt guide, however I don't have a heat press~ (rather costly for just simple home use) How would this work on a basic shirt guide using a table top and basic house iron?
Doug Melvin (1 year ago)
i am a welder.... so i get burnt once in a while ..i see you do to so i keep a tube of colgate tooth paste in the shop it works great.... better than anything ive ever tried
Hamadanners (1 month ago)
Yeps my grandma taught me the always keep some in my tool box. The menthol helps cool the burn and you leave it on. I also use it to clean my lights.

Patrick Kelley (9 months ago)
I've got the same question, I use HTV a lot on apparel and regular calendared vinyl for car decals, I'm getting requests for coffee cups and stainless steel cups, I bought a cup/mug press but was wondering if calendared vinyl will hold up as well through wear and tear or dishwasher cycle for things like that, thanks, just wondering...

Why denatured alcohol vs regular? Why 951 isn't of 651? Thank you
Cuttin Corners Vinyl (1 year ago)
denatured is made for object isopropol is made for skin. I used 951 because its a metallic. I use 651 for almost everthing else.
