THE SHOCKING TRUTH ABOUT TONGUES
What does the Bible teach about this gift of speaking in tongues? That’s what we are going to talk about today on the BEAT.
Hey what’s up everyone my name is Allen Parr and so today we are tackling the touchy subject of speaking in tongues. What is the gift of tongues? What are some misconceptions of tongues? How should it be used in the church?
What is the Gift of Tongues?
1) The gift of tongues originally was the supernatural ability to share the gospel in another known dialect without the speaker having previous knowledge of this language (like me speaking Japanese) – Acts 2:1-12
2) Some also believe it is the ability to speak and/or pray in an unknown language.
So What are some of the Misconceptions?
1) Everyone can learn to speak in tongues – The Bible teaches that tongues is a spiritual gift. It also teaches that the Holy Spirit is the one who distributes spiritual gifts to believers AS HE WILLS. So just like any other gift you cannot choose your gifts they are given to you. So I don’t how a Christian can learn to speak in tongues any more than they can learn to possess the gift of pastoring of healing or miracles.
2) The second misconception is…People who speak in tongues have more spiritual power than those that don’t – I don’t see anywhere in Scripture where a person who spoke/prayed in tongues was able to accomplish more spiritually than those that didn’t.
a. This type of mentality merely divides the church more than it already is into the haves and the have-nots and makes those that don’t have the gift feel inferior.
How should this Gift be used in the Church?
1) There must be an interpreter – So if you’re in church and everyone is speaking in tongues Paul says, what if someone who isn’t familiar with the gift or an unbeliever comes in? (Put yourself in their shoes) They will think they’ve just entered into a crazy place. (14:23) So the question is, “Why would you want to take a chance of offending, confusing or turning off an unbeliever from church simply because you feel the need to speak/pray in tongues in church?” Which is why Paul said, “I CAN speak in tongues but IN CHURCH I would rather speak in a language that EVERYONE can understand.” So even Paul said he doesn’t speak in tongues in church unless there is a KNOWN interpreter present.
2) Experience should never contradict Scripture – Sometimes people will say, “well I just felt the Spirit.” Saints, the same Spirit who empowers us to use our gifts is the same Spirit who inspired the writing of the Bible and He cannot contradict Himself by leading you to have an experience in church that goes against the writing of Scripture.
Finally, because a Christian’s view on this subject has nothing to do with salvation.
It is my prayer that your views and experiences with this will be based on scripture
Always remember to be sensitive to unbelievers when in a church…
Finally, be careful not to adopt the mentality that people who have the gift are more spiritual or more powerful than those that don’t.
I would love to know your experience with this as it relates to the church so please leave your comments below I’d love to hear them.
We should be focused more on exemplifying the fruit of the Spirit than we are with the gifts of the Spirit.

Hey everyone, I really need to say something that is on my heart. It is after midnight here and this is heavy on my heart. As I am reading some of the comments on this thread it is becoming very clear to me that the enemy is using this topic to further divide the church. We must always remember that his goal is to get us to argue back and forth on these issues that really have nothing to do with our salvation and distract us from what we really should be unified about, which is sharing our faith and encouraging and edifying other believers. Please know that even though I disagree with some of these comments, it doesn't mean that I love each of you any less. Also hope that even though many of you disagree with the stance on this video that you respect me and know that we all love the Lord and we are all fighting against the same enemy. As you comment further, please keep this in mind, and please continue to respect others as you comment on this very controversial issue.Thank you,
+Joe Anthony Because that is what the Enemy wants! He wants to steal, kill, and destroy the Church because he cannot handle it. We must keep spreading the Good News and truths at a time where there is so much false preaching and false teachings, and misinterpretations of His word to put them demons right into their place! For us to have dominion over them instead of them having dominion over us. Bless you, brethren!
christain boy you are absolutely on point, this video I discern with a foul smell Hosea 4:6 My people are perished for the lack of knowledge, best answer to sum it all up if I should say so myself, spending time with Holy Spirit should fix you right up bless you my brother the division in the body of Christ these days seriously I just can’t, bless you brethren.
Bro, I would advise you to read your bible again about this speaking in tongues stuff, coz you are very wrong... the bible never says tongues are to be used to preach the gospel.. but are to be used for self-edification... 1 cor 14:4
I love your videos brother.. ❤️
Pastor Parr, can you explain these scriptures below? They seem to contradict what you're saying. Perhaps I'm looking at them wrong.
Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. ---1 Corinthians 14:4
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.---1 Corinthians 14:2
Modern speaking in tongues as most christians understand it, is demonic and has nothing to to with real God. It's about submitting oneself and allowing oneself to be taken control of by an evil spirit.
The scriptures says that God knows what is in our hearts even before we ask! So, saying that speaking in tongues is to aid you when you're unable to speak or don't know what to say contradicts that fact! Moreover, Jesus Christ himself was not recorded speaking in tongues. Or did he?
The operation of speaking in tongues is in three folds;
1. The tongue on the Pentecost Day that come with the understand of everyone one present there—hearing one another in individual languages
2. Tongues that come with interpretation by the speaker or another person in the congregation endows with gift of interpretation
3. Tongues that come without interpretation. This one is personal between anyone and his or God! It always manifest when one is praying and it is also for personal edification!
Others things about tongue as the Bible says:
1. Genuine tongue is speaking mysteries beyond mental understanding. This is especially true with an individual praying alone to God in tongue
2. Tongue is never a sign of spiritual maturity or seniority above other believers! The Corinthians church or believers were more carnal than churches in Ephesus, Thessalonica, and others, yet they speak in tongue
3. Tongue is a gift and not a mark of baptism of the Holy Spirit! Baptism of the Holy Spirit take place at conversion! You are baptism unto Christ body by the Holy Spirit! 1 Cor.12:13
4. If you want, you can covet it—eagerly covet or desire all the spiritual gifts says the Apostle Paul!
5. The Apostle Paul says, do not forbid men in praying in tongue!
6. Some people are giving the gifts of tongues as the Holy Spirit wills, some pray to God for it and received it! Some won’t be given, to this Paul says, ‘do all speak in tongue?’
7. Paul says, I thanks God for giving me the gift of tongue (more than ye all); yet he never one day bragged about it nor make himself superior above anyone! In fact, he did not even talked about it not until when the Corinthians believers were fighting in this gift and he (Paul) needed to make some clarification!
I. In a particular congregation or church where everyone believe in tongue, I don’t think it is bad if they speak in tongue publicly in during worship!
II. In church where all do not speak in tongues, those with tongues need not to exercise it there for the love for others! Paul says, I will rather speak one word for mutual understanding and edification than speaking thousands of Word that do not benefit others!
III. When unbelievers are present in our worship, we should ask for interpretation or tongues like the day of Pentecost so that they too can benefit!
IV. If you have this gift, use it with all humility without any ego or pride! If you don’t have, concentrate on the one or the ones the Holy Spirit has given you!
V. When you allow yourself to be filled (and drunk cf. Eph. 4) with the Holy Spirit, any kind is spiritual gift can manifest through you!
VI. There should be no conflict or insulting one another about the gifts of the Holy Spirit! Our understanding about any biblical truth may differ, but we are one body—the same God, Lord and Savior, the same Holy Spirit and the same Fold (Church). We have many things in common that unite us than what divides us as Christians.
Blessings to all!
Speaking jibberish and call it speaking in tongues, as they do in many charismatic churches, really is hugely deceptive and contrary to scripture. And when they go as far as to induce this on others or in a huge gathering, then it is, in my view, purely demonic and also a trick of suggestion and hypnosis, both of which have a demonic site to it and of course should not be a practice of any Christian. Pentacostals and fringe groups around this church even go so far as to speaking jibberish, when they are baptized and obviously there are a good deal of group pressure to speak in tongues, as they call it, or it is a sign, that the Holy Spirit didn't fill you in the baptism. This is of course entirely unfounded in scripture and also pretty sickening. None of those kind of false teachers should ever be allowed to baptize me, that is for sure
Hi brother I have a question
My name is Stefin Stalin, I'm from india. Now I'm 23 year old, few years back my pastor took me to a tarry meeting(it's a meeting for people who needs tongue gift) they sung a song, the song ended in may be above 220bps they told us to clap our hands hard and fast suddenly my tongue started to twist and I started to tell some words. They told me I got gift of speaking in tongue. I was little young i was not into Bible so much. But when I started understanding the truths I felt that was not a real spirit gift.
My question is
"Can I get the gift of speaking in tongue like I said above?"
In fact, you should yearn to speak in tongues more than anyone else like Paul was. How dare you say this?? And by the way; maybe you mean "other languages" and "not tongues"... For you to speak in tongues you MUST believe, be saved, baptized by water and Spirit, and the same Spirit will give you utterances in groanings we don't even understand. And those who speak in tongues are MORE POWERFUL than those who don't speak in it. When your spirit is high and connected to I AM in His presence. Tongues comes without your knowledge and that is when the interaction with God is super..... Delete the clip if possible!
My friend. You are wrong. Its people like you who mislead and are false ministers we are told in the Bible. How can you say that speaking in tongues has nothing with being saved?? Nonsense. Read Mark 16 from vs 15-18......
Am sorry if have answered you wrongly but i dislike when people like you mislead others about the truth in The Bible. Read your Bible again and before you speak against any writing in any chapter and vs in it, get other verses that says the same thing and try to expound on them!!!!!
I am a devout Christian, and while I've seen many people "speak in tongues" in my lifetime, I don't believe for one second that anyone in our lifetimes has truly spoken in tongues. I think it's a huge "look at what a great Christian I am" facade, and it honestly makes me sick. It makes a mockery of Christianity, and it's offensive to God. The only people who would ever see this activity and be drawn into the church are those who are extraordinarily gullible.
God lives in us, so essentially speaking in tongues is God speaking to God... God speaking through you what He wants you to speak out loud, and when spoken in tongues, you can't change it or interpret it incorrectly. Whatever He says through you in tongues is unaltered and shall come to Light and His pure Will shall be done. 🤗
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of :
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
How can you know there is an interpreter around if you don't even know what you're saying...and in my experience it is uncontrollable, it just comes out when I'm in spirit even when I try to stop it. This is exactly why the scriptures don't always resonate with me. After reading the Bible I get more confusion than understanding and there is a lot of contradiction.
So many are taught things that they so readily believe but we are responsible to go to the Word of God to verify what is being taught. Not just by looking at a few verses NO we must read it in its entirety to get the right and full meaning of it all. Saved by grace since 1993. God opened my eyes to what His Son did on the cross for ME. It is finished! Christ has paid for ALL of my sins! Hallelujah what a Savior!!
When I was in the Navy, we had a fellowship of brothers on my first ship, while we were at sea. One of the brothers was telling me about his experience with the gift of tongues and expressed that I hoped God would bless me with that one day. My brother told me that I couldn't be a Christian if I didn't have that gift. I knew I was a Christian, said so and, foolishly, we got angry and argued. we split up and I went to the signal bridge to pray. I sat down and told God that I was going to pray and praise Him until He let me speak in tongues. It took about 20 minutes for God to get me to where I would listen, then He spoke. "It's not for you." That's all. It affirmed that there was that gift and He did give it to us, just not me. Later he gave me the ministry of service and mercy when I became a registered nurse. I have heard many people "Speak in tongues", but never according to scripture.
Speaking in tongues is different from praying in tongues.
When you speak in tongues, you are prophesying and edifying the body of Christ and in such cases there has to be an interpreter.
When you pray in tongues, you are communicating with God directly. The devil and his host does not understand what you are saying. You are speaking mysteries. You are giving angels commands that the devil wouldn't know how to act. In this case you don't need an interpreter.
Speaking or praying in tongues does not divide the church. Everybody just needs to grow in their faith. There are spiritual battles you cannot win unless you pray in tongues.
you think if a chinese guy walks into an english speaking church and doesn't understand he's gonna think you are all crazy? of course not. now if he walks in and they are speaking in TONGUES he's gonna run as fast as he can
why keep out the fact that Paul spoke in tongues? and not language. Please don't make arguments using one part of the Bible when its clear Paul spoke in unknown tongues. ME PERSONALLY.... I'm still against speaking in tongues in church....although I don't support it..its CLEARLY a reality in the bible....i don't know how you can post a video saying its nowhere in the bible. PAUL HIMSELF SPOKE IN TONGUES. but he said he'd rather speak 5 words ppl can understand then 1000 words in tongues.
Each spiritual gift important not one more important then a other. Just as not all people are the same. Also god provides what is needed there for all spiritual gift are given based off what god see you need most what god feels will benefit you the most to achieve the goals and life purpose.
I was raised in a non-denominational church where speaking in tongues was common practice. It was basically proof that you were filled with the Holy Spirit. what was done in my church was fake gibberish.
Yes, too many false teachings now a days. God is not the author of confusion, nor is he exclusive. Toungs means during this DISPENSATION BEFORE THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN every one heard the gospel in their own language. This doesn't apply today. Don't be received & read your Bible carefully. Babble is satanic & a matter say perversion of the TRUTH.
The actual truth about speaking in tongues is that it is undoubtedly all fake.
Language experts have secretly recorded sessions where people are supposedly speaking in tongues.
Their analysis is always the same.
It's simply incoherent babbling.
It has no structure and never resembles and real, known language.
It's all faked.
Why would the all knowing God of the universe need to have us speak an unknown tongue to communicate with him? If he knows all, sees all and is the beginning and the end of all, then why would an unknown language be needed? And why is a human “interpreter” needed if only God can know what you’re saying?
The gift of tongues is having the ability to talk in other languages. The bible says that someone has to interpret the language, so when someone stands up and says the spirit has come on them and they start babbling and making stupid noises, that is NOT the gift of tongues! My pastor has the gift of tongues, he can speak 11 different languages, and finds it very easy to learn a different language. I have tried for years to learn another language and I just cannot, I can’t retain it...I do not have the gift of tongues...
My grandparents forced me to attend a Pentecostal church, they believed in the Glossolalia form of "speaking in tongues" ordeal, running up and down isles, upbeat worship music, and lulling and moaning and shouting during a sermon; it's called a "charismatic" type of church.
The Book of II Corinthians actually warns against that as the tongue of spirits and making aimless babble to the air. It's real and it's scary and I think it's evil. The congregation lifts their arm to the air, the tongue rattles, and you can hear a ghostly howling in the room. You can hear it in sermons being recorded. My sister went to a church with me there once, turned to me and said we should run and hide, she was scared. It was why I preferred not staying with my grandparents on Sunday, they would do it too, in their home and with friends.
As a young teen, in the midst of a congregation beginning to do this, I decided to rebuke demons.
The howling stopped. The people stopped speaking in tongues. The people working in the background of the church thought something was going wrong. And the pastor declared that he felt the "Holy Ghost" had left the place.
After I rebuked demons.
It’s sad ,the video you showed is seen as only black people doing this at church,Christianity has damaged our race.If anyone speaks in tongues and it cannot be interpreted then whoever is speaking must be mad according to Paul
This is very sound, and truthful teaching about tongues. Only in the last 100 years have people began speaking in the nonsensical language that has been passed off as an actual language. This doesn't mean it isn't real Christians speaking, but they are misguided! Thank you for this awesome video, and I shared it on fb and twitter!
I dont believe speaking in tongues is of God today. My spirit is very uncomfortable around it. Some people have tried to force the "baptism" of the Holy Spirit and tongue on me, saying its needed for salvation.Lies!
Hi Allen. This person on this you tube video (https://youtu.be/Xl9wPFxKrMQ, ) is telling people that unless you can speak and pray in tounges, you will not be taken in the rapture. I questioned her a few times on her stance but she is adamant. Wondered what your thoughts on her stance was?
Sorry but that's mostly not true. Once the holy spirit is in you He stays in you. Jesus is in you and with you no matter what. It's only when you sin that the holy spirit leaves but Jesus does not. God chooses at certain times who He wants to speak in tongues and when.
So I got question I'm still confused what speaking in tongues is. Is speaking in tongues a different language other then your native language like I speak native English so like me speaking in Greek would be considered speaking in tongues?
The word "tongue" in the Bible simply means "a known language." First, when people spoke in tongues, other people could actually understand what was being spoken because they were praising God in a language that could be understood. Second, the spiritual gifts were a sign for unbelievers to hear and believe though this miraculous gift. Third, the Bible predicted the ending of these gifts. 1 Corinthians 13:8 "Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled". The Bible gives CLEAR rules for the using of this gift (when they were available) and most churches go against them.
Has knowledge passed away also? That which is perfect has not yet come. That is speaking of a time when heaven and earth meld together. For now, we need all the help we can get. Those who speak in tongues should follow the instructions given by Paul. It is for personal edification or giving a message to the Church involving interpretation. Should never be used to show off.
One doesn't "learn" to speak in tongues. It is a gift of the Spirit. It is NOT just for speaking in a language you have never learned as you mentioned and as was done on the Day of Pentecost. The Book of Acts goes on to tell how they were filled with the Spirit and began to speak in an unknown tongue. The gift of tongues and being filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues are two different things. The Holy Spirit fills us with His Spirit and we have a beautiful heavenly language. It is the language of God. We use it in our prayer time when our own words cannot convey what we need. IT IS A HEAVENLY LANGUAGE WE USE TO SPEAK TO GOD.
I’ve been pressed to speak In Tongues in front of the entire church.... but I have heard people speaking in tongues and what I heard was demonic. So I haven’t back to church. It’s not for everyone. Sometime God gives you the eat instead of the tongue. Amen.
I encourage you to go back to church, just not to that church if possible. I pray God allows you to find a biblically based church that has sound doctrine and theology and not this foolishness that is going on these days.
The Beat, I am very sorry, I think you have not yet caught the revelation about speaking in tongues...Learn the subject before coming out to talk about it...there's no controversy about this topic, anyone can speak in tongues....provided you believe...the book of Mark clarifies it Mark 16:17-18 said "these signs shall follow them that believe, they shall cast out demons, speak in new tongues....the gift is not specialized for some particular group of people, just believe and you can speak...That's the best way of praying...it is your spirit that prays to God....u don't have to understand that you are saying, God knows whatever you said....and walking with the Holy spirit takes you from zero to hero....u cannot measure the speed of the Holy Ghost......it just so fast...u can accomplish in the shortest possible time...what someone has used 10yrs to accomplish....That's the Power of the Holy Ghost.....this can only happen when you have caught the revelation of the Holy Ghost.....learn about it..before talking about it.....anyone can speak in tongues, provided they believe....
Good explanation. The unfortunate thing from Mark 16 is that there are "unbelieving" believers. And when they say that those verses are not in most early manuscripts????? Yet, God has made sure it is in every Bible that I have ever picked up. Hmmm?
With all due respect, what you're doing is elevating your experience above scripture. You used one scripture in your reply which is not even found in the majority of manuscripts. BUT, let's suppose it is. You single out the piece on tongues as if that is promised to every believer but you don't mention the other things such as casting out demons, drinking poison, picking up snakes, etc. Do you believe that every believer can and should be doing these things? Then if not, why do you believe all can speak in tongues ESPECIALLY when Paul clearly said that "not all will speak in tongues?" (1 Cor. 12 around 28-30 or so).
Act2 explains that speaking in tongues is actually speaking in another language so that all people of different tongues (languages) would understand each other. There would be no need for an interpreter. Speaking gibberish is not from our creator.
Acts2 also explains that not all Christians would be given the same gifts.
Acts 2 King James Version (KJV)
2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came
together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
You should also read 1 Corinthians 14. You'll get lots more insight there. Tongues is not always a known language. Without an interpreter the person should speak in tongues only to God.......lots of good stuff there.
I have spoken in tongues one time and that was the night I received my salvation. I’ve never spoke it again but every now and then I can Interpret if the person that’s speaking in tongues is legitimately speaking in tongues and not just making noise. It’s a beautiful feeling. I mean there is nothing like it.
This happened to me yesterday I think. I went to laptop of mine and as I opened my mouth a strong of words came out contrary to what I was going to say. I was completely taken aback. No clue what I said until I honed it on the notion that I'd been spending to much time on it prior
I’m so glad I clicked this video. Just before I came here I watched a woman praying and speaking in “tongues.” But all I heard was the same things over and over in a language that sounded like bad Bulgarian or something. I left a comment there in which I pointed out exactly what you teach here, that the gift of tongues given to the apostles was, as you describe, being able to go into any country and speak in one’s native tongue and be understood no matter what the language of the people in that place. Thanks for confirming that. Just by observation I see this is a sore spot among Christians that is dividing the people of Christ. I’ll repeat here the remainder of my comment on the other page in which I pointed out that there are “angelic” and “holy” languages that were invented or fashioned by angels that go against the will of Christ. These languages and writing systems were in part ways of communicating directly with humans, circumventing Christ; these systems are well known in occultism, and some of them sound a lot like what I’ve heard described as holy in origin. People forget that not all angels are good, nor do they all serve us. In fact, many hold humanity in great contempt and yet are still in the presence of God. If y’all could see the translations of some of these languages, you’d be running away instead of embracing them. I’m so glad you make the point succinctly and quickly! 🙂
I fellow Christ in man not man feelings as God will start the work in him and he will finish it. Freedom of choice we were given. Make the wrong choice and YHWH will finish it. Yeah you guessed it it don’t always in good. Mustard seed of faith and your intent is to do the fathers will ,seek God always though the lamp. I am. Have fun kids. Praise be to the most high.
if I heard correctly you stated that there was no proof in the bible that shows that when you speak in tongues that you are speaking directly to God? or did I not listen correctly? then what does 1 Corinthias 14:2 mean when Paul says For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. and when Paul says in 1 cor 14:27-28If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
