1 - You have quite a lot of hair; I imagine it will look totally different for people with fine hair or layered hair. 2 - the music is very annoying for such a nice tutorial

Will it work with really thick hair?
Meredith Roach (3 years ago)
I really want to do this for prom, but will it work the same for my hair type? I'm not in any way being racist, but Caucasian hair isn't as strong as Asian hair. It looks so pretty and you do a great job! I just want to make sure that it won't damage my hair.
OmnomRanger (3 years ago)
+Meredith Roach This will do damage to ANYONE'S hair, no matter what kind of texture you have. You can minimize damage by treating your hair well at every other time of the day however. Wash it less, only brush when necessary, condition every time it gets wet, deep condition once a week or once every week and a half, ALWAYS use a heat protection spray when curling or straightening your hair (or preferably just not using heat on your hair at all, as that is the #1 way you can damage it) and avoiding sulfates or other products that have lots of chemicals in them... Those are ways you can avoid doing the most damage so that when you DO style your hair like this it is strong enough to handle it :D P.S: The best deep conditioner is organic, unrefined coconut oil! Use it a couple of hours before you wash your hair (AT MOST once a week, since it's super oily) and you'll notice your hair is much stronger, shinier and healthier after your first few times doing it. It also works great as a moisturizer for your skin (also... 30 minutes before shower so it can soak into your skin. Then wash it off.) Best of luck :D

i hate heat, any advice make naturally curly hair?
jmmacb03 (2 years ago)
Or try "pin curls" like they did in the '40's. Twist small sections, loop them and pin them. They also used to twist the sections and tie them with little rags—in the "olden days". Nice and soft to sleep on.
kimberly abrego (3 years ago)
leave your hair in two separate braids over night I think a day is better and then let them out

Pers Godiva (4 years ago)
This looks so gorgeous! I tried it out earlier but my hair is definitely too thick and long for this ... or better said, I don't have enough head to put all my hair up like this. And not enough bobby pins xD Either way, still very pretty :)
Pers Godiva (3 years ago)
@courtniebri Thick hair is awesome as long as it's winter and you don't try to do anything with it.
courtniebri (3 years ago)
+Pers Godiva It might work with larger sections of hair, would love to have thick hair!
bbbb27272 (3 years ago)

Simply Chic.
blondwiththewind (4 years ago)
I LOVE this style!!!  It looks so pretty...but not overly "done".  And if your hair is cut in layers...the curled ends will shoot off even more random curls when you twist it. :-)  It would look so pretty with scattered pearls pinned into it....or maybe a couple of flowers as well.  Going to give this one a try!!
CinthiaTruong (4 years ago)
@blondwiththewind niceee...you already thought of all these different ways to make this into your own style! love it!
Teresa Yantone (4 years ago)
This is beautiful! Would NEVER thought of this on my own!
revshoney (4 years ago)
Thank you! My husband & I are going to a Regency Ball (think: Mr. Darcy) tonight.  I just tried this and it came out great. Thank you very much.  I usually have trouble duplicating a style, but your video was clear and doable.
khawla (6 months ago)
revshoney was it hard combing hair out after too many knots??
